KYIV Art & Fashion Days New York

“Creativity through art and design are key elements to human existence. Personal expression is what makes us human. Culture is a road map from the past into the future, and it must be maintained and celebrated.”

— Keanan Duffty

During NYFW in September 2022, the Mastercard Tech Hub hosted KYIV Art & Fashion Days, showcasing collections from six Ukrainian designers. The event aimed to support these creatives affected by the war in Ukraine, many of whom became refugees. Founded by Sofia Tchkonia in 2021, the initiative gained unforeseen importance after the events of February 24, 2022, symbolizing resilience and solidarity within the fashion community. Keanan Duffty, along with Kay Unger and Deborah Weinswig, orchestrated the event's transition to the US, aligning it with New York Fashion Week. Designers like Elena Burenina, Bobkova, and others presented their collections, while sponsors like Tommy Hilfiger and CFDA Runway 360 ensured the event's success.

In supporting the planning and execution of KYIV Art & Fashion Days, I assumed a multifaceted role encompassing logistical coordination and stakeholder management. From backstage arrangements to seamless front-of-house operations, I orchestrated every detail to ensure the event's success. Serving as a central point of contact, I fostered effective communication among designers, sponsors, and other stakeholders, adeptly addressing their needs and aligning their visions with the event's objectives. Collaborating closely with Ukrainian designers, I provided invaluable support and guidance, facilitating the seamless presentation of their collections and elevating the event's overall impact.
