The project included a comprehensive rebranding strategy for Barnaby Bear, a children's book publishing company, aiming to focus on three main pillars: rebranding, expansion, and enhancing the interactive experience. As the driving force behind the strategy, executed in May 2022, my role was multifaceted and dynamic, encompassing strategic planning, creative direction, and operational execution. Tasked with expanding the company's profile beyond its origins in Nantucket, USA, my primary objective was to manage a strategic transformation that drove Barnaby Bear into the national spotlight while captivating a new generation of parents and children.

Transforming Tradition

At the heart of my responsibilities lied the modernization of Barnaby Bear's brand identity, leveraging insights from extensive market research to craft a contemporary aesthetic that resonates with today's perceptive audience. From revitalizing visual elements such as colors and logo to the introduction of new characters and narratives supporting diversity, empowerment, and inclusivity, every aspect of the rebranding effort was curated to capture the imaginations of both young readers and their parents.

Moreover, my role extended beyond visual reimagining to encompass strategic initiatives aimed at expanding Barnaby Bear's footprint across the East Coast of the United States. Through innovative tactics such as establishing strategic partnerships with high-traffic locations like Nantucket airport's gift shops, creating pop-up retail experiences, and forging alliances with supermarket chains, I spearheaded efforts to amplify brand visibility and foster meaningful connections with target demographics in key geographic areas. Through these endeavors, I aimed to position Barnaby Bear as not just a beloved local provider, but a nationally recognized business of quality children's literature and interactive experiences, prepared for sustained growth and success in the competitive marketplace.
